Answer #1

As a representative of the program that advocates for population health improvements, I would emphasize on better care for population health resulting in lower health care costs. The committee that I am part of has a program for the local community to assess the health of the community and identify the resources to address the needs. The program is called ‘Community Partnership for Health’ which emphasizes the collaborative approach and partnership in shaping the community with better health. Local public health departments are partners for the program to assess the health of the aging population which gives rise to increased health care cost. The partnership with the local public health department is highly beneficial for the program due to its infrastructure facilities, their mission for community level health improvement which is their Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, trained staff whose focus is improved population health and finally they have a good understanding of the government norms for making policies and adjusting the system to meet the changes. Thus, the partnership program will eventually result in better community health with reduced health care cost.
