What effect is a company’s culture likely to have on the efforts of management to practice each of the following approaches to leadership: LPC theorypath-goal theory, the decision tree approach, and the LMX model?

LPC theory: The LPC or the least preferred coworker theory explains that a high LPC leader scores the coworkers to be positive and the low LPC leaders’ scores the coworker to be negative. The High LPC leaders can generate positive impacts in the organizational culture of the organization as they see the positive side of the employees, motivates them, implements good communications etc. Whereas the impact of the low LPC leaders will be negative which reduces the momentum of the team work and coordination?

Path-goal theory: A leader who implements this theory in the organizational context would motivate the employees to focus on their personal goal and hence they can meet the organizational goals. These leaders can generate good focused, disciplined, motivated, confident employees in the work place as they are goal driven. The organization culture associated with this leadership theory will be more result oriented.

The decision tree approach: This approach of leadership will enable the leader to take decisions appropriately considering various aspects of the organizational operations. This leadership sylte will make the leadership operations more systematic and hence the ambiguity in the employees will be reduced. Effective communication and interaction will enabled which will add value to the organizational culture.

The LMX model: The leaders member exchange leadership theory focuses on the relationship based or emotional leadership approaches. The high quality LMX ensures responsibility, accesses to the resources, participation in decision making etc. This makes the employees loyal and committed towards the organization which can make the organizational culture effective.
