Answer #1

Answer: C

Chemiosmotic hypothesis:

-Splitting of water result in generation of proton which gets accumulated in the lumen of thylakoid.

-Also during electron transport chain the proton gets accumulated in the lumen.

-Therefore within chloroplast the proton in the stroma decrease and in the lumen of thylakoid increase.

-It is the breakdown of this gradient that leads to generation of ATP with the help of ATP synthase.

-ATP synthase enzyme consist of two part i.e F0 and F1

-"The F0 part is embedded in the thylakoid membrane which form transmembrane channel that carries out facilitated diffusion of proton across the membrane i.e from intermembrane space to the matrix".
