Question

power Systeme

exercice:

A symmétrical 3 phase schort circuit occur's on the 11.8kv bus bar of the circuit.

G1 : 20MVA    ; XG1=0.07 p.u

G2 : 60MVA    ; XG2=0.1 p.u

G3 : 20MVA    ; XG3=0.08 p.u

the voltage at the new bus bar drops to 5kv compared to the nominal voltage.

Qst:

1- find and calculate the expression of fault current and the fault apparent power.

2- calculate the quantity of Var to be injected at the level of the busbar, to restore the original value of the voltage.

Sbase=60MVA ; Ubase=11.8kv

The per-unit reactances for the generators and transfomers are based on their rated voltage and expressed in percentage. When a three-phase fault occurs at bus 5; three transmission lines, namely L4, L5, and L6, are disconnected from the power system. By taking the base apparent power of 100 MVA and the rated voltage of generator G1 as the reference, determine the per-unit...
