Entropy is the degree of disorderness or randomness. It refers to the positional probabilities of molecule. In order to find the entropy of a reaction, positional probabilities of reactants are compared with those of products. If the sum of entropy of products will be more than reactants then the entropy of the reaction will be positive and if vice versa entropy of the reaction will be negative. As entropy of gases> liquids> solids, while finding the entropy of reaction we ignore the entropy of solids or liquids in the reaction. Simply by subtracting the sum of entropies of gaseous reactants from sum of entropies of gaseous products, we can find the entropy of reaction.
