Answer #1

The Prescription was 10 mg by mouth three times a day

So, he has to take 10 mg doses 3 times in a single day.

We know that, the concentration possible is 0.5g/3ml

this implies, for every 3 ml of water, there is 0.5g of Pepcid

Multiply this with 10, we get

for every 3X10 ml of water, there is 0.5X10 g of Pepcid

implies, for 30 ml of water, there is 5 g of Pepcid

In order to get 10 mg as per the doctor's order, multiply by 2

we get, For every 2X30 ml of water, there is 5X2 g of Pepcid

Finally, we get

For every 60 ml of water, there is10 g of Pepcid

So, the Answer is 60 ml per dose
