Do you expect clonal selection to occur at the site of an infection or elsewhere? Explain your answer. Are there any sites in the body where you expect little or no immune response, even if a dangerous pathogen is present? What do these sites have in common?

Yes, clonal selection does occur at the site of infection. During the maturation and proliferation phase of lymphocytes, they are exposed to different antigens. So the lymphocytes develop specific antigen receptors to whom they were exposed. Later on during infection, the the antigens are identified by the specific lymphocytes having the receptors to those antigens. That is the clonal selection. Then there is proliferation of that lymphocyte.

Yes there are some site in our body where the immune system of whole body can't work. They are separated by some barriers. eg., our brain is separated by whole body's immune system by blood-brain-barrier. However there is a very little response due to presence of brain's own immune system.
