a)The balanced chemical equation will be:

2Al + 3Cl2 ---> 2AlCl3

b) Given : 30.0g of Al reacts with Chlorine gas

To find the mass of aluminium chloride produced from aluminium, we need to find the number of moles of aluminium for which we use the formula

number of moles = mass / molar mass of Al

= 30g/26.982(g/mol) = 1.112 moles of Al

Hence if 1.112 moles of Al is used in the reaction , then 1.112 moles of aluminium chloride will be produced since the molar ratio of Al:AlCl​​​3 is 1:1 (from balanced chemical equation)

Now to find the number of grams of aluminium chloride produced we use the formula again,

Moles of AlCl​​​3 = mass/molar mass

Mass = moles * molar mass of AlCl​​​3

= 1.112 * ( 26.982 + (3*35.453))

= 1.112 * 133.341

= 148.275 grams

Hence 148.275 grams of Aluminium chloride will be produced if 30.0g i.e., 1.112 moles of aluminium is made to react with chlorine gas.
