Answer #1

7.

mass of Na2So4=14.7 gm

mass of water=345 gm

total mass=345+14.7

=359.7 gm

mass % of Na2So4=(mass of Na2So4/total mass) x 100

=(14.7/359.7) x100

=4.08 %

8.

a.

moles of maethanol=mass of mathanol/molar mass of methanol

=7.5/32

=0.234 moles

moles of water=245/18

=13.62

mole fraction of methanol=moles of methanol/moles of methanol+moles of water

=0.234/13.62+.234

=0.0168

b.

moles of methanol=55.7/32

=1.74 moles

moles of water=164/18

=9.12

mole fraction of methanol=moles of methanol/moles of methanol+moles of water

1.74/1.74+9.12

=0.1602
