0.46 g of aluminum (MM = 26.98 g/mol) reacted :

moles of Al reacted : 0.46 g / 26.98 g/mol = 0.017 moles

Alum : KAl(SO4)2·12H2O , MW : 474.38 g/mol

1 mol Al ===> 1 mol KAl(SO4)2·12H2O

thus, theoretical yield of alum :

= 0.017 moles *474.38 g/mol = 8.088 g ~ 8.1 g ( 2 significant No. )
