Plasma membranes of neuron and epithelial cells enriched with phospholipids.The phospolipids are bipolar in nature.one end of the molecule contains phospherous is polar and hydrophilic(head).The opposite of or tail end is a two fatty acid chain that is non polar and hydrophobic.The tail is directed toward the middle of the membrane and away from the fluid.The heads are found contact with extra and intra cellular fluid.Proteins involved in intracellular signalling can be targeted to plasma membrane and organelles through phospholipid binding domains.thus the phospholipid act as the key in initiating cellular processes
