What causes a “smiley face” gel? Why?
This problem occurs in gel electrophoresis.
When the voltage applied is too high according to gel concentration, it starts to heat up the center of the gel is hotter than the edges. It is also called as edge effect and it gives "smiley face"
It can be improved by decreasing the power setting and by checking the buffer.
Gel Electrophoresis Why is it important for the gel to solidify? What determines the rigidity of the gel? What is the relevance of the loading dye? Is bromophenol blue used to stain DNA?

What is the purpose of gel electrophoresis? How is size related to movement through a gel? What is a DNA ladder? Why is it important in gel electrophoresis and how is it used? (note: a ladder is also called a “standard”) What are two indications one can look for to be certain the gel electrophoresis is occurring? What are two strategies to improve the resolution of DNA bands?
What separation method commonly uses a horizontal gel electrophoresis apparatus? Why?
The goal of this code is to draw a smiley face and be able to change emotion, mouth and eyes. Use the demo code below to fill in the blanks ( ), as well as add any other methods or data that is needed. All blanks should be completed with a single line of code (or partial line). You should not modify any other code that exists. Only remove the blanks and add other missing methods. Use a radius of...
Could you please help me write a Javascript code that will show a smiley face picture when I click the button. The picture should not display until the button is pressed. Professor X is trying to raise people’s scores on the Smiley Face Test. He has 3 different experiments in the works and hopes that one of them will be effective. He has set the alpha for each experiment at .05. Each test will be two-tailed, which means his cutoff will be ± 1.96. Do step 4 for each of the following 3 experiments. Assume that the distribution of scores on the SFT for all the people in the population is...
Gel Electrophoresis of Amplified PCR Samples 9. What is Alu? 10. Why is Alu useful for studying human ancestry? 11. Why do the two possible PCR products from our lab differ in size by 300 base pairs? 12. Explain how gel electrophoresis separates DNA fragments 13. Fill in the table below. For each genotype, write how many DNA bands (fragments) you would expect to see in a gel, along with the size of each (n base pairs) Table 1. Predicted...
