Phenotypic colour is not at all a criteria for any phyla

How the oxygen is obtained and transported is a criteria for phylum porifera

Almost all phyla characterised by environmental changes. Some are only aquatic, some are marine, some are reptiles etc

Waste products process is a function of alimentary canal. Lower phylas have no alimentary canal but higher phyla have complete alimentary canal

How they move about is locomotary function. Phylas are classified also according locomotary organs

But phenotypic color is not at all a criterion in any phyla
