Answer #1

Fluoride intake causes several issues, mainly

1. The most basic and evident effects of Fluoride is dental fluorosis in which mottling of the enamel occurs.

2. Fluoride is known to affect the bone structure as suggested by several researchers when it is taken in high concentration for a long duration. Bones become weak and are prone to fractures often. The fractures also take a more extended period to heal.

3. Apart from dental fluorosis, skeletal fluorosis may cause stiffness in joints.

4. Several researchers suggest the effect of fluoride intake on neurotoxic problems, which affects the brain functions.

5. Fluoride is also linked to cancer; however it needs more research to establish the chronic effects of Fluoride in causing cancer.

Therefore it is mainly suggested to affect the teeth and bones where it may cause demineralization and associated complications.
