Answer #1

The oxygen binding curve for hemoglobin displays a "S-shaped" curve. It shows that oxygen binding is cooperative, which means that only the binding of first molecule is difficult, but as soon as one oxygen binds; the probability of binding the other vacant sites with oxygen increases. It also shows that the binding of oxygen with hemoglobin occurs with different affinities. When the limit of binding of oxygen is reached, and no more further binding with oxygen occurs, then the curve achieves a saturation over a narrow range of oxygen concentration.

Hence, the correct options are a,b, and c

Hope it helps, Good luck

    10. Write a one-page summary of the attached paper? INTRODUCTION Many problems can develop in activated sludge operation that adversely affect effluent quality with origins in the engineering, hydraulic and microbiological components of the process. The real "heart" of the activated sludge system is the development and maintenance of a mixed microbial culture (activated sludge) that treats wastewater and which can be managed. One definition of a wastewater treatment plant operator is a "bug farmer", one who controls the aeration...
