Explain why there have been such drastic population declines in the collard lizards of the Ozark Mountains. Tie in as many different concepts that you learned in the class.
Ans: There have been such drastic population declines in the
collard lizards (Crotaphytus collaris) of the
Ozark Mountains because of the following factors-
Habitat loss due to suppression of wild fires
Lizards being cold - blooded, need the sunlight to become active. However in Ozark Mountains initially it was open and sunny with herbaceous plants, grasses and wild flowers which supported Collard Lizards to reproduce is now full of vegetation with high density of canopies which resulted in low temperature and less exposure to rocks and light.
The possible reason for the Habitat loss is suppression of wild fires in that area because of that, there is less surface activity for the lizards.

please thoroughly explain, thank you.
B. Consider the following scenario. A large population of lizards occupies an extensive range that is rela-tively uniform ecologically (i.e., in terms of climate and co- occurring species). At a certain point in time, the ancestral population becomes divided down the middle into two similar-sized portions by a barrier that completely prevents the movement of lizards between the descendent populations. Around the same time, a major flood occurs, and a small number of individuals are...
Question 10: Anolis lizards are a genus of closely-related lizards that have evolved into many different morphs on various Caribbean islands and surrounding mainlands. Harvard scientist Jonathan Losos has classified these morphs into 6 types that specialize on and appear to be adapted to different microhabitats organized along vertical space. For example, "twig" (specializing on twigs) lizards have short legs with a slender body, whereas "trunk-ground" lizards have long hind legs with stockier bodies. Interestingly, similar patterns of morph diversification...
1)What is opportunity cost and why is it important? 2)U.S. and China have been engaging in a trade war lately, each threatening to impose trade restrictions and high tariffs on goods the other country exports. Using the concepts learned in class, discuss if you think such a trade war is beneficial or detrimental to each country.
Imagine that you have discovered a new population of
curly-tailed lizards established on an island after immigrant
lizards have arrived from another island during a hurricane. No
lizards inhabited the island previously. You collect and tabulate
the genotype data below for the lactate dehydrogenase gene (Ldh)
for each of the individual lizards, numbered 1-10. Use the table to
answer the questions below. The allele frequency of the A is 0.45
and the allele frequency of a is 0.55
Is the...

Re-emphasizing Concepts We have covered a variety of topics in the first half of the course. Although many of these concepts are at the forefront of your mind now, it may be difficult to incorporate them in the future. Select three concepts you have learned thus far thet you will be easly able to incorporat into your future research and explain why. Select another three concepts that you have difficulty envisioning how you will incorporate them and...
an unsaturated solution 6. Briefly explain the reason why a drastic increase in water temperature in a small body of water would have an impact on aquatic wildlife. 7. If 0.457 g of anhydrous sodium carbonate reacted with exactly 22.55 mL of dilute hydrochloric acid solution, calculate the concentration of hydrochloric acid. Na,Co, + 2HCl -> 2NaCl + H,O + CO,

Figure 1A shows the locations of the five anole lizard
populations in the study. Figure 2A shows the mean
CTmin (critical thermal minimum, the temperature
at which lizards lose their coordination) over time for two of the
populations. Figure 2B compares the mean CTmin
values for all five populations in the summers of 2013 (closed
circles) and 2014 (open circles). Asterisks indicate that the
CTmin for a population was significantly lower...

4. You have been tasked with the design for the beds in the evacuation center. The 20 average individual in the population is 5, 6" tall with a standard deviation of {(A+ B) / C} inches. Decide what length (in inches) to design the bed in order to accommodate 95% of the population. (assume population height is normally distributed, and that accommodation is based on bed length only) 5. After some research, you have learned that there are many people...
Thus far in this course (Financial Management), you had been learning new concepts and principles. Reflect on the theories, concepts, and strategies presented in this course (Financial Management) and consider that you can apply them in your professional personal life. write a reflection based on what you have learned in this course. Address the following in your reflection: Explain how your attitude about financial management has been affected by the information you gained in this course. Explain the knowledge/insights you...
