Answer #1

Answer: Action potential velocity is defines as velocity of action potential that travel down the neurons. Axons that high thick myelin sheath will sends signals very fast than those that contain less myelin sheath. The axons are associated with sense of touch or propioceptor sends fastest action potential velocities ( 80-120m/s). Hence, option D is the correct answer. The axons that are associated with pain receptors and thermoreceptors have thin myelin sheath and sends slow signals (low action potential velocities of 0.5-2.0 m/s). Axons that are associated with mechanoreceptors have low action potential velocities compare to proprioceptors. Hence, Options A, B and C are incorrect.
