6. The autonomic nervous system composed of 2 components;

-Sympathetic nervous system (SNS)

-Parasympathetic nervous system (PNS)

Simiarities between SNS and PNS;

  • Both are the part of ANS.
  • both are originated from spinal cord.
  • both have an impotent in maintaing higher life-support.
  • composed of post and pre-ganglionic neurons.

Difference between SNS and PNS;

Sympathetic Parasympathetic
Involved in the fight or flight response. Involved in maintaining homeostasis and rest and digest response.
