Side effects and its mechanism,

  • Bradicardia, hypotension, hyper secretion, bronchoconstriction : Action on the parasympethatic nervous system.
  • cholinergic crisis
  • Action of neuoromuscular junction will results in prologed muscle contraction.
  • Administration of reversible cholinoesterase inhibitor is contraindicated with those that have urinary retention due to urethral obstruction.
  • Severe side effects are mainly ,nausea, vomiting,:stimulation of the gut chemoreceptors and stretch recepters triggers via vagal nerve afferent and afferent fibres associated with sympethetic nnervous system. In addition to being neuro trsmitter that stimultes nausea annd acetylcholine also increases gut motility and seretion.
