The genetic make-up of population canbe influenzed by five factorsand they are:

EMIGRATION: Emigration is the movement of people or individuals out of a population in to another population. This can decrease the population size and growth rate.

IMMIGRATION: Immigration is the movement of people or individuals into a population from other population. This can increases the population size and growth rate.

NATURAL SELECTION: It is the process by which organisms with favourable traits are more likely to produce next generation (reproduce). By reproduction, they pass these traits to their offspring. As time passes these trait helps to adapt to their environment.

MUTATION: It occurs when a DNA is damaged or alteration occurred in the DNA due to a mutagenic substance so that the genetic message carried by the gene is lost. A Mutagen is a substance that can bring about a permanent change to the DNA such that the genetic message is altered.

GENETIC DRIFT: Genetic drift is a change in the frequency of an allele within a population over time.
