Enoyl Co-A hydratase is Lyase enzyme
Lyase enzymes are the ones which catalyzes reactions involving breaking chemical bonds between two atoms.
Enoyl Co A hydratase is involved in the 2nd step of beta oxidation of fatty acid where it converts Trans-2 enoyl coA thioester into Beta hydroxyacyl coA thioester by breaking the double bond between the 2nd and 3rd carbon of trans-2-enoyl coA thioester by hydrating it or adding an OH group.
As this enzyme is involved in breaking bonds to form new compounds it is classified as Lyase enzyme.
