Ans) Clathrins are coat proteins which bind to the sorting signal of vesicles carrying the cargo protein and transferred it to the signal receptor. The signal sequence of LDL is Asn-Pro-X-Tyr (NPXY) here X represents any amino acid and this vesicle is transported to LDL receptor present in plasma membrane via Clathrin proteins.

LDL receptor bind to apoB protein and then the vesicles are pinched off by dynamin proteins followed by vesicle uncoating.The uncoated vesicle will fuse with endosome and thus release apoB protein which gets broken down by the hydrolytic enzymes present in the lysosome.
