Answer #1

Given  dosage of statin drugs for the treatment of high cholesterol is , m = 10 mg =10 mgx10-3g/mg = 0.01 g

total blood volume, V = 5.0 L x 103 ml/L = 5.0x103 mL

Concentration of drug = ( mass/volume ) x 100

= ( m / V ) x 100

= ( 0.01 g / 5.0x103 mL ) x 100

= 2.0x10-4 % (w/v)

Scientists are working on a new technique to kill cancer cells by zapping them with ultrahigh-energy in the range of 1012 W) pulses of electromagnetic waves that last for an extremely short time (a few nanoseconds). These short pulses scramble the interior of a cell without causing it to explode, as long pulses would do. We can model a typical such cell as a disk 5.0 pm in diameter, with the pulse lasting for 3.4...

To write the percent concentration as a conversion factor and to use the percent concentration as a conversion factor. The percent concentration of a solution can be written in several different ways, including the mass percent, the volume percent, and the mass/volume percent. The percent concentration of a solution can be used as a conversion factor to determine information such as the amount of solute or amount of solution. For example, a 4% (m/m) solution means that there are 4...
