2NaOH(aq) + C4H6O5(aq) >>>>> Na2C4H4O5(aq) + 2H20 (l)

2 moles of NaOH are required for neutralization of 1 mole of malic acid .

Apply concentration equation at equivalence point ;

2(M1V1) of NaOH = M2V2 of malic acid

2(0.1000M × 12.54mL) = M2 × 24.68mL

M2 = 2.508/24.68 = 0.102 M malic acid .

Concentration of malic acid in moles/L = 0.102 M

Concentration in g/L = (0.102moles × 134.09g/mol)/litre = 13.68 g/L

THUS malic acid concentration of apple juice is 13.68 g/L .
