Are there any differences in mitosis when occurring in males vs females?
Males constantly goes through the mitosis to generate spermatocytes when they reach puberty. But females finish the mitosis of every oocytes even before they are born. After the completion of many rounds of mitosis, primary spermatocytes are produced in males. Gender is not important in mitosis because it is the division of somatic cells (same for male & females), whereas in meiosis, gender is important because of different reproductive systems & gametes.
hope it helps.
Are there any differences in mitosis when occurring in males vs females?
There are indeed differences in the way males and females typically communicate; for example, ________.
Suppose you are interested in whether or not there are
differences between males and females in time spent per day talking
on the phone. You hypothesize that females spend more time per day
(in minutes) talking on the phone than males. After you entered
your data, you performed descriptive statistics.
Based on the output from the descriptive statistics below, what
analysis should you perform to test your hypothesis? Explain why
you chose that test.
1. Suppose you are interested in...
A two-factor ANOVA investigated the effects of gender (males vs. females) and participation in a varsity sport: whether a student participates in a varsity sport or not (yes vs. no) on the numbers of hours spent studying per week. The following matrix represents the outcomes of this study. Participation in a varsity sport Yes No There is a main effect of gender and a main effect of "participation in a varsity sport", but no interaction There are main effects of...
A population has an equal proportion of males and females. That is, when randomly selecting one individual, the probability that the individual is male (M) is 1/2 and the probability that the individual is female (F) is 1/2. Each of the outcomes M and F have a probability 1/2 of occurring. What does this mean? A. In the next four randomly selected individuals, the outcomes could be any combination of M and F. B. In the next four randomly selected...
What are the similarities and differences between mitosis and meiosis? When will cells be haploid and when will cells be diploid cells?
Sexual dimorphism, or phenotypic differences between the sexes within a population, would be expected when: a. there are difference in reproductive investment between males and females b. There is no variation in phenotype between males and females c. there is no sexual selection on males or females d. investment in reproduction between males and females is equal e. heritability is zero
in a survey of 50 males and 30 females it was found that 30 males and 20 females exercise regularly. If a person is elected at random what is the probabliity that given that they are male they exercise regularly given that they do not exercise regularly they are female
In a recent survey of 500 grocery shoppers, 29% of males and 40% of females make an impulse purchase when they shop. If the survey consists of 250 males and 250 females, at .05 significance is there evidence of a difference in proportion between the two populations?
1. In walruses, males defend a large harem of females and will fight with other males to maintain dominance and access to their harem. However, there are some males that are smaller and will mimic female walruses, hiding among them and occasionally mating with them. Researchers observed a walrus population and found that there were 75 offspring produced. Of those, the female mimic male was the father of 25, the dominant males was the father of 50 and each of...
There is an opening for 5 positions in a company and some females and males apply for the job, 4 females and 6 males were selected for an on-site interview. based on these information calculate the following parts: a) name the distribution (4 points) b) What is the probability that all 4 females and just 1 male get the job offers? (8 points) c) what is the probability that 2 females and 3 males get the job offers? (8 points)
