Answer #1

Given f(x)=3x^2,g(x)=3-x

(a) (fg)(x)=f(x)g(x)

=(3x^2)(3-x)

=9x^2-3x^3

Hence, (fg)(5)=9x(5^2)-3x(5^3)

= 9x25-3x125 = -150 ....(1)

(b) (f/g)(x)=f(x)/g(x)

=(3x^2)/(3-x)

Hence,(f/g)(5)=(3x5^2)/(3-5)

= -75/2.......(2)

(c) (fog)(x)=f{g(x)}

=f(3-x)

=3 x (3-x)^2

(fog)(5)= 3x(3-5)^2

= 3x4 = 12......(3)
