You have been hired as a scientist for NASA and for your first assignment you have to develop research on how the behavior of Astronauts changes from the period before they launch into space to the period following their return to Earth. Use the Methods of Research to describe how you came to your hypothesis.
In order to study how the behavior of Astronauts changes from the period before they launch into space to the period following their return to Earth, the following research methods could be used:
1) observational method: where, the researcher could observe a group of scientists through their transition period, and make note of the changes. the group of scientists would serve as the sample for the study.
2) survey research through questionnaire: here a questionnaire would be prepared, where, there would be a grading scale in order to understand the manner in which the attitude or behaviour of the scientists change through the period. the results could then be interpreted.
3) personal interviews: here, the researcher would be directly interacting with the chosen sample group of scientists in order to understand how they feel or react while the transition period. also, the participants could be asked to mention their anxiety level on a grading scale.
interview could also be carried out in the following ways
a) individual to individual: where the interviewer interacts directly.
b) individual to group: where the interviewer would be interviewing different groups of scientists going on for different space missions at different times.
c) group of researchers to individual: where there are more than one researcher, and they would be interviewing the scientist on a one to one basis.
d) group to group: where more number of researchers interact with a group of scientists.
