do = object distance = 18 cm

di = image distance = ?

f = focal length = - 10 cm

using the lens equation

1/do + 1/di = 1/f

1/18 + 1/di = 1/(-10)

di = - 6.43 cm

so the image distance is 6.43 cm

magnifcation of the image is given as

m = - di/do

m = - (- 6.43)/18

m = 0.36
