System analyst understands both business and computing. To successfully implement technology the system analyst has to act as a translator. They will study business opportunities and translate the business and information requirements into specifications for information technology. The information is translated into technical language BECAUSE they must speak a language that the programmers can understand easily. The analyst will build a series of models, diagrams, decision tables and use other descriptive tools and techniques. UNLESS they help solve a problem or effect improvements computers and business systems are of no value to the business. Similarly while communicating with business managers the analyst will translate the technical terms to nontechnical business using nontechnical words and images. The system analyst will use presentations skills and other methods of communications.
