6) Describe the process of crossing over and synapsis in detail.
IN DETAIL PLS THANK YOU
Crossing over
Crossing over is the process in which genetic material is exchanged between non-sister chromatids of homologous chromosomes, resulting in new allelic combinations in the newly formed daughter cells.
Features
a. Crossing over takes place during meiosis, during this stage each pair of a chromosome has four chromatids.
b. Crossing over usually involves the participation of two of the four chromatids of the homologous chromosomes. However, a very rare process of double or multiple crossing over which involves all four also occurs at times.
c. Two recombinant types or crossover types and two non-crossover types or parental types are formed as a result of crossing over.
d. The value of recombinants may vary from 0-50%.
e. The recombination frequency can be calculated from the cross progeny. It is expressed as the percentage ratio of recombinants to the total population.

Crossing over, or synapsis, is a process during which __________ exchange segments of DNA. Crossing over occurs during _________ of meiosis, and it contributes to genetic diversity because it creates new combinations of genes. Fill in the Blanks.
Question 19 (1 point) Process by which Chromosomes become visible under a light microscope synapsis crossing over condensation replication Question 20 (1 point) During the G2/ M stage of the cell cycle, the cell has an opportunity to check that replication of DNA occured without errors the nutritional and health state of the cell is ok growth factors are present none of the above
Match the term to its proper description nondisjunction crossing over independent assortment synapsis When non homologous chromosomes exchange pieces of their DNA When homologous chromosomes pair up Homologous chromosomes exchange pieces of their DNA When homologous chromosomes are together and 4 chromatids are seen Random lining up of homologous chromosomes at the metaphase line Chromosomes or chromatids fail to separate

Crossing-Over in Meiosis Meiosis is a process of nuclear division that reduces the number of chromosomes in new cells to half the number in the original cell. The parent cell is diploid (2n), and it begins meiosis with a replicated set of chromosomes. During meiosis, this parent cell Homologou will divide twice to create four haploid (1n) cells. pairs During prophase I of meiosis I, homologous pairs of chromosomes pair up and stick together to form tetrads through the process...
Can you describe in detail. Thank you
Draw the product of the following reactions:
6.) During meiosis, when crossing-over occurs between two homologous chromosomes, it does not happen at a single point, but rather two points with a stretch of DNA in between. a. What are the two junction points called? b. What is the region between the two points called and what is different about this region compared to how double-stranded DNA usually is? c. If the region described in b.) is located within a gene and the two homologues have different alleles...

High performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) deals with liquid samples at high pressures whereas mass spectrometer (MS) operates at normal temperatures and requires high vacuum conditions. Describe in detail hovw these very conflicting conditions are taken care of in the process of combining the two techniques resulting in a hybrid technique known as HPLC-MS. Use...
