Dear student,

here i given a resonable explation for above problem.

As the elevation at 'C' is greater than the pressure head in the tank 10m . there will be no flow through A B C D

So flow rate is zero. And pressure at 'A' will be head due to water level above point A.

and the HGL and TEL is simple to draw. the uses this drawing is to know how energy losses or dissipiation accurs. widely applied in hydro power plant. instead of this problem, you can choose a good problem from your textbook for practice. so that you get more clarity.
