The immigration to North America is traced back with the arrival of Spanish settlers there in the sixteenth century, and then proceeded with the French and English settlers in the very seventeenth century .

The studies conducted had times and again shown that prior to American revolution ( between 1765 and 1783 ) a wave of free and also the wave of indentured labor from England and also from other nations of Europe along with the importation of slaves from regions of Africa and the Caribbean to North America took place.

There had been two important periods when the wave of migration to North America has been more such as the 1880 to 1924 .These two time periods had in past added some 25 million immigrants.

The cultural imbibition took place,the racial mingling along with increase in crimes took birth as it was believed that alarming Europe was sending more number of paupers, criminals, illiterates, also the some of their madmen to America that was a threat to American character.
