ANSWER A :-

  1. When a virus cell infects a host cell, it needs to first copy its genetic material in the host cell and then undergo the process of DNA replication in order to establish and maintain its identity within the host cell.
  2. There is a mechanism called as Cap Snatching in which the PB protein of the virus mediates the removal of a short sequence of nucleotides from the pre-mRNA of the host cell and this is used as a primer for the viral cell in order to synthesize and continue with its own genetic material introduction into the host cell.
  3. Once this process is completed, there is inclusion of a complex called as Ribonucleoprotein which is composed of Ribonucleic acids and certain associated elements that play a key role in the process of DNA replication.
  4. If this protein PB becomes non-functional, the activity of introduction of the viral genome into the host is affected and simultaneously, the process of DNA replication is halted.
