What is the relationship that has been observed between formal education and the development of Alzheimer’s disease. What theoretical and neurological explanations have been offered for this observation?
The effects of formal education on the symptoms of Alzheimer's disease:
The effects of formal education on the symptoms of Alzheimer's disease was investigated by researchers at the Department of Psychiatry by Klinikum rechts der Isar, Technische Universität München. They were able to demonstrate that education diminishes the impact of Alzheimer's disease on cognition even if a manifest brain volume loss has already occurred. The association between brain damage caused by Alzheimer's disease and the associated dementia symptoms is not always close. In addition, there are individuals with serious brain disease with virtually no signs of dementia, whereas those with only mild brain lesions show significant clinical symptoms. The theoretical concept of cognitive reserve is often ascribed to these phenomena. A high degree of cognitive reserve results in a strong individual resistance to brain injury symptoms; thus, cognitive reserve can be seen as protective against brain damage. In support of this, previous studies have shown that length of formal education is correlated with cognitive reserve and comparison of individuals with the same degree of brain damage indicates that those with more years of formal education experience less serious dementia symptoms. Research has suggested a variety of theories to explain the association between education and dementia risk, for example, brain reserve, cognitive reserve, brain-battering hypothesis, diagnostic bias and education as a proxy for a third variable.

A researcher is investigating the relationship between Economic development (x) and level of education (y) in ten countries. The researcher has interval level measurements for both variables. Now let’s suppose that the researcher finds a correlation of -.6 between the independent and dependent variables. The researcher concludes that “Level of economic development explains 60 percent of the variation in the level of education.” Is this correct? Explain.
Discuss the relationship between formal training and development, informal learning and knowledge management how are the related to learning and creating a learning organization? short answer please. Employee training and development
Suppose you are interested in exploring the relationship between population density, years of formal education, household size, and GDP in different countries. What type of chart would you use in such a case? Stacked column charts Scatter-chart matrices Co-centered pie charts Tree charts
What is the relationship between health education and health promotion? What is the difference between the two?
John and Alice have been providing care for John’s 86-year-old father who has Alzheimer’s disease as well as hypertension and diabetes. Last week, John's father wandered away, leading to several frantic and worrisome hours, until he was returned by the police. You have been called in to counsel the family regarding their father's possible transition to a nursing facility. Discuss the following: What service recommendations might be made?
What is the relationship between the AACN Essentials and baccalaureate nursing education? How do the AACN Essentials apply to nursing practice?
What does students' research say on relationship between the following: Education, health outcomes, and consumption of health care services.? Justify
A researcher is investigating the relationship between economic development (x) and level of religiosity (y) in ten countries. (The researcher has interval-level measurements for both variables.) The researcher theorizes that citizens of countries at the lower end of the development scale will profess higher levels or religiosity than will citizens of countries at the higher end of the development scale. As development increases, religiosity decreases. Draw and label four sets of axes, like the one below: (E) Suppose the researcher...
2. T he set of alternatives is Z-\a,b,c,d,e,f,gj. It has been observed that, when the available alternatives were a, e and f Bill chose a. We express this by saying that the observation was ( {a, e, Л.a) . The following is a list of observations concerning Bill: (a) Assuming that Bill's preferences did not change during the observation period, is Bill's behavior rationalizable by a complete and transitive preference relation? Explain your answer. (b) Suppose that Bill is not...
Much effort has been directed toward determining the genes in which sequence variation contributes to the development of type 2 diabetes, a disease that results from a loss of sensitivity of cells to insulin. Approximately 800 genes have been implicated. Propose an explanation for this observation. This is the only information I was given. :(
