• Felony is defined as a crime which is awarded punishment for more than a year. It a serious crime, more serious than a misdemeanor.
• The punishment for a felony can range from 5 years to a death sentence.
• Voting a fundamental right every citizen.
• Most of the crimes that are committed are by normal human beings in difficult situations.
• These difficult situations make then lose faith in the democratic system of governance.
• When these difficult situations arise in childhood, it affects people mentally as well.
• The whole process of imprisonment is to slowly make the inmate realize his mistake and bring him/her back to normalcy.
• If an inmate shows good behavior or signs of improvement while in prison, he/she should be allowed to vote.
• Being able to vote will make an inmate feel that he/she is a part of something big.
• It will make him feel less of a misfit and more like a team member.
• Thus enable him/her to acclimatize to the society.
