Please list and define the different types of justice in organizations. Make sure to define and describe each one. Also, explain how they impact eachother?

Justice systems in an organization guarantees the employees that they are treated fairly at the workplace. There are three kinds of justice which are procedural, distributive, and interactional.

Procedural justice is defined as how employees view the fairness in the process and how a specific outcome is decided. For instance, when an employer does not provide a prior notice to his employees about shift scheduling and employees have to work overtime, it is an absence of procedural justice.

Distributive justice deals with the fairness of the outcome for the employees as they perceive it. For instance, when an employee achieves the goals assigned to him, he expects some raise at appraisal time, but when he is not provided with raise, it is an absence of distributive justice.

Interactional justice deals with how expectations from employees are communicated to them by the employer and the involvement of sensitivity in the same. For instance, when an employee is not provided with raise at appraisal even after surpassing the goals assigned to him and also is not provided with the reasons for the same, it shows the insensitive behavior of the employer and interactional justice toward the employee.

How they impact each other:

When an employee is devoid of distributive justice such as fair percentage of raise at appraisal, it is possible that interactional justice was also not delivered to him as expectations and valid reasons were not communicated by the employer and it will lead to procedural injustice to employee as administration of justice was missing in the procedures. Therefore, these justice systems are interconnected and impact each other as a whole.
