All information is transmitted with neurons as an electrical signal, whether it is sensory input, integration or motor output. What makes this transmission specific?

The ability of a neuron to transmit the impulse in an integrated manner depends on the structure and its ability of generating electrical (action potential) and chemical signals (neurotransmitters). They receives the impulse, process the information and propagate this, along the length of neuron with high speed and then finally, converts this electrical signal into the chemical one, i.e. specific neurotransmitters, and transmits this to another neuron or effectors as muscle or glands.
