What are treatment interventions that would be considered culturally relevant to a participant of behavioral health services? How does CDC’s technical package “Preventing Child Abuse and Neglect” presents culturally relevant methods, activities, and resources for participants, and impact the effectiveness of the program.
First of all we would discuss regarding behavioral disorder ,In present days people were psychologically disturbed and were searching for foolish and unhealthy ways to make their selves happy which also includes child abusing, Treatment is much more required for these kind of people.Behavioral treatment through parent management training or individual and family therapy can be very effective for managing behavioral disorders.Medication may be helpful in treating underlying or co-occurring disorders.
Treatments for behavioral disorders focus mainly on:
There are two main types of behavioral treatment: parent management training and psychotherapy.
Parent management training has been shown to work very well for children and teens with behavioral disorders. It is most effective when started early in childhood or the pre-teen years, but it is never too late to change the way you handle your child or teen's behavior. In many cases, you can access parent management training through a children's mental health agency, a parenting group or a private therapist.
Individual therapy or family therapy can also be effective in helping to manage behavioral disorders. Therapy can help change how a family functions and support parents and children or teens with figuring out the causes of challenging behavior and talking about other ways of handling them.
Medication treatment for behavioral disorders is targeted towards treating underlying or co-occurring disorders such as attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), depression or anxiety.
Technical Package:A technical package is a compilation of a core set of strategies to achieve and sustain substantial reductions in a specific risk factor or outcome.Technical packages help communities and states prioritize prevention activities based on the best available evidence. This technical package has three components. The first component is the strategy or the preventive direction or actions to achieve the goal of preventing child abuse and neglect. The second component is the approach. The approach includes the specific ways to advance the strategy. This can be accomplished through programs, policies, and practices. The evidence for each of the approaches in preventing child abuse and neglect or its associated risk factors is included as the third component. This package is intended as a resource to guide and inform prevention decision-making in communities and states.
Child maltreatment includes all types of abuse and neglect of a child under the age of 18 by a parent, caregiver, or another person in a custodial role (e.g., clergy, coach, teacher) that results in harm, potential for harm, or threat of harm to a child. There are four common types of child maltreatment.
• Physical abuse is the use of physical force, such as hitting, kicking, shaking, burning, or other shows of force against a child.
• Sexual abuse involves inducing or coercing a child to engage in sexual acts. It includes behaviors such as fondling, penetration, and exposing a child to other sexual activities.
• Emotional abuse refers to behaviors that harm a child’s self-worth or emotional well-being. Examples include name calling, shaming, rejection, withholding love, and threatening.
• Neglect is the failure to meet a child’s basic physical and emotional needs. These needs include housing, food, clothing, education, and access to medical care.
This is how child abuse and neglect affect children, adolescents, adult survivors, and society. This section examines the impact of abuse and neglect on child development, as well as long-term consequences for adults with a history of abuse. Impact is explored by type of abuse, family factors, and the social and economic consequences.

Once upon a time American physicians had it all. Overcoming modest beginnings, internal divisions, and myriad rivals, during the 20th century doctors in the United States achieved “professional sovereignty” (Starr 1982). They secured extraordinary levels of clinical and financial autonomy, as well as social prestige and public deference, and through the American Medical Association (AMA) exerted substantial political influence over health policy making. Organized medicine had a crucial role in shaping the major institutions of American health care, including private...
