Dating violence is rampant across the globe. It is similar to domestic violence wherein one partner in a relationship would indulge in verbal abuse or physical attack. In domestic violence, the abuse is from the married partner whereas, in dating violence, it's from an unmarried partner. This is either done due to psychological or mental imbalance or due to excessive desire to overpower the other partner. Notably, emotional blackmail is also considered as one of the strongest factors behind dating violence.

2. Emotional abuse: This is a form of abuse wherein the partner would emotionally blackmail the opposite partner. This could trigger and panic of ending the courtship
3. Threat: This is a warning stating that the partner would either attack his girlfriend or boyfriend or attack himself or herself.
4. Sexual abuse: This involves seeking sexual demands and threatening to end courtship if the demands are not met.
5. Physical abuse: This is a felony that would involved physical attacks.

2. Counseling: The couple or the victim(s) are provided counseling to tell him or her that it would be a wrong step to go ahead and marry the person. This would even involve in explaining the practical problems and the elucidating that the friendship and love between such dating couple ended long ago.
3. Blowing whistle: It is good for a victim to let the world around her know that she or he has been a victim of dating violence. This will help him or her come out of such a threat without any frictions.
4. Unofficial arbitration: This process of unofficial alternative dispute resolution can be beneficial for the victims of dating violence. They can approach some elderly person who would be respected by everyone and that his or her decision would be binding on both of the parties. By way of an award, the unmarried couple can be separated and discouraged from getting married. Usually, parents are the one to take this initiative.
