Python 5. Write a function named grade_components that has one parameter, a dictionary. The keys for the dictionary are strings and the values are lists of numbers. The function should create a new dictionary where the keys are the same strings as the original dictionary and the values are tuples. The first entry in each tuple should be the weighted average of the non-negative values in the list (where the weight was the number in the 0 position of the...

Write a program in PYTHON that takes a string and an integer as inputs from the user, and then prints a new string that contains the letters from the original string “rotated” by the given amount. For example, “cheer” rotated by 7 places gives the word “jolly” and “melon” rotated by -10 gives the word “cubed.” Use built-in function: ord() to convert a character to a numeric code and chr() to convert numeric code to character.

write a function firstLetterWords(words) that takes as a parameter a list of strings named words and returns a dictionary with lower case letters as keys. But now associate with each key the list of the words in words that begin with that letter. For example, if the list is ['ant', 'bee', 'armadillo', 'dog', 'cat'], then your function should return the dictionary {'a': ['ant', 'armadillo'], 'b': ['bee'], 'c': ['cat'], 'd': ['dog']}.

    1. Define the draw_histogram() function which is passed a Python dictionary as a parameter. The keys of the dictionary are single letters and the corresponding values are integers, e.g., {'b': 5, 'a': 6, 'c': 3}. For each key:value pair in the dictionary the function prints the key, followed by ": ", followed by a series of stars. The number of stars printed is given by the value corresponding to the key. The keys are printed in alphabetical order. Note that...

The string can contain characters other than letters, but only the letters should be counted. The string could even be the empty string. Lower-case and upper-case versions of a letter should be part of the same count. The keys of the dictionary should be the upper-case letters. If a letter does not...

Functionality to build (4 functions) read_csv_header Define a function named read_csv_header with one parameter. This parameter will be a csv reader object (e.g., the value returned when calling the function csv.reader). The first row read using the parameter is the file's header row. The header row contains the keys for the data stored in the CSV file. This function must return a list containing the strings from that header row. The function parameter will be a csv reader object and...

The function below takes a single parameter, a list of numbers called number_list. Complete the function to return a string of the provided numbers as a series of comma separate values (CSV). For example, if the function was provided the argument [22, 33, 44], the function should return '22,33,44'. Hint: in order to use the join function you need to first convert the numbers into strings, which you can do by looping over the number list to create a new...
