Hello!

I have a question about a part of the project for a finance class. The professor wants us to " Provide a table of the Sales and operating income (or cash flows) by operating segment." Is he just asking for us to provide the operating income and total sale? I just copied them from the income statement.

If you are working with the annual report of the firm, please refer to the schedules to identify segregation of operating income. The operating income may be segregated into multiple segments. For example, for an technology firm operating in software, the revenue segment can be from saas based service as well as product based revenue. So instead of copying from the income statement, please go through detailed schedules in annual report.
