The different modes of transportation to and from Mackinaw
Island include private boats, small aircraft, by ferry, and during
winter by a snowmobile. Ferry services are available from Star Line
and Shepler’s, and there is also a high-speed catamaran that
transports tourists to and from the island. These modes of
transportation add to the overall experience of tourists.
When tourists are transported by ferry or the catamaran the
tourists enjoy the experience of being transported on water.
Besides, they get their first views of the Mackinaw Island before
they reach it. The experience of traveling on a ferry is
entertaining to most tourists and improves their mood before they
reach the island. Typically, the ferry ride, boat ride, the
catamaran, or the snowmobile brings joy to the tourists, they feel
grateful that they are at Mackinaw, and experience serenity.
Moreover, those that reach the island through a small aircraft, get
a bird’s eye view of the water and Mackinaw Island. It gets them
faster to the island, gets them a VIP treatment, and enables them
to arrive in style. The plane ride creates a heightened interest in
the island, a sense of pride when they have arrived, and amusement

is very exciting. The experience delights visitors and brings the
