Research the respiratory system for the group of taxa below, give a basic overview of each animal's system (2-3 sentences), and highlight the differences among the animals, tying in the environment that they live in.

Earthworm respiratory system:

Earthworm respire through their moist,thin and highly vascular skin.

The absorbed oxygen gas by skin which diffuse into the blood and it was transported to all cells in the body.

Not only oxygen,carbon-di-oxide also passes through the skin by diffusion.

Then this carbon-di-oxide mixes in blood and diffused out of the body through its moist skin.

For difffusion to occur, the earthworm should be kept moist.

The body fluid and mucous which is released to keep its skin moist.

So,it needs to be in damp or moist soil.This is the reason earthworm can usually surface at night,at that time it was cooler,the evaporating pootential of the air is low.

Squid respiratory system:

Squid respired by gills.

The seawater sending the oxygen and it goes into the gills.

For breathing,It drawn water through their siphons into their mantles,which is the large muscular coverings over their bodies.

Then it passes over their two sets of gill filaments absorbing oxygen and carbon-di-oxide through diffusion.

Crayfish respiratory system:

The crayfish used their gills for respiration.

These gills were connected to its legs.

Whenever it walks,it used its legs to filter the water for respiration.

These gills have higher surface area,because of the flat stacks of gills.

The plate has spiked like shape to extend further surface area.

In the gills,it has flap which contains blood capillaries to aid in gas exchange.

This respiratory design is highly efficient,for it can adapt in both land and water.

Grasshopper respiratory system:

The respiration system of grasshopper happen through tracheal system.

It begins at the spiracles when the air inhaled first.

Grasshopper respiratory system consists ten spiracles which is located in the abdominal area and others are thoracic.

It has airsacs that the tracheal system works to create,like human alveoli it stores carbon-di-oxide and oxygen where the respiration takes place.

It inhaled air through spiracles which is controlled by brain

Some of the spiracles involved in the exhalation of  the air.

The grasshopper tracheal system works as an independent function,which will not involve its circulatory system.
