Lipid monolayer Vs bilayer membrane lipid membrane of all cells is in bilayer structure only lipid monolayer membrane of the cell cannot be monolayer because the hydrophobic chain of lipid cannot remain in contact with hydrophilic cytosol or external environment. so Lipid monolayer vs bilayer membrane cannot be a criterion for distinguishing different species of bacteria.
