The three categories of wheeled chair mobility systems to meet the different needs of individuals with mobility impairments, are as follows:

1. Dependent mobility system: Dependent mobility systems require an attendant. It includes strollers and transport chairs and a manual chair also that is propelled by an attendant. A dependent mobility system is selected in the case where the individual is not able to propel a wheelchair independently or when a secondary system is required that is lightweight and easily transported.

2. Independent manual mobility system: An independent manual mobility system is selected for those individuals who have capability to propel a wheelchair manually. These bases consist of two large wheels in the back side that allow the user to propel independently and two smaller wheels in the front.

3: Independent power mobility: Independent powered mobility systems are chosen in the case where the user face trouble in propelling a manual wheelchair. These wheelchairs are powered by electric supply that are driven by the user. commercially many options are available within each of these categories to meet the requirements of the individual user.
