What type of environment do you think the lactase-persistent gene (genes code for proteins/enzymes) came from? In other words, what type of environment would be able to digest lactose be advantageous?
- The lactase persistent gene came from the Turkish ethnic group of people locating in the northern parts of central Asia. The domestication of cows, goats and sheep lead to these mutations in the gene that produce lactase enzyme.
- In other words the type of environment and human culture with highly access to the domesticated dairy animals will be advantageous to lactose tolerant.
What type of environment do you think the lactase-persistent gene (genes code for proteins/enzymes) came from?...
Yet, all the cells in your body contain the same
genes (and same alleles). The difference across cell types
is that genes get selectively expressed (turned on or off)
based on the proteins needed for cellular function given their
environment.

Muscle cells have the gene for keratin, but do not express
it

36. Which one do you think would be more harmful. A mutation that changed the nucleotide sequence of an mRNA molecule, or a mutation that changed the nucleotide sequence of a DNA molecule? 5 points 37. All body cells have the same DNA complement yet all body cells do NOT contain the same proteins. How is this possible? 5 points 38. Consider a bacterial gene that is approximately 2100 nucleotides long. 3 Points Approximately how...
What genetic profiling method do you think is best in identifying genes related to cancer? Include an explanation of why this method is better than other methods

What other issues, besides security, do you see with being able to do work anywhere, anytime? (think about this for an organization and for its employees.) Requirement minimum 500 words.
27. Where do enzymes come from? a. enzymes are a type of protei so they come from ribosomes b. enzymes are a type of protein so they come from the nucleus c. enzymes are segments of DNA d. enzymes are catalysts so they never break dowr 8. What genes (or kind of genes) will you focus on in your investigative research? Provide 2-3 reasons for your choice of these gene/s. Starting with the bone sample itself, what methods will you use to get DNA that you can sequence? Which “ingredients” in your lab reactions will determine which gene or genes are copied? How is it that these ingredients are able to target a specific gene? What method will you use to see if your efforts to copy...
post your thoughts on Perpetual Inventory. For what types of products do you think it would be advantageous to keep a perpetual inventory and why. This post must be at least 100 words, as I’m looking for well thought out discussions. Also, make sure to respond to at least one of your fellow student’s posts.
