Enabling Others to Act is the behaviour of a self-assured leader. Leaders who recognize the strengths of their employees and their potential for further responsibility feel confident in enabling others to take control and initiative. Enabling is a leadership behaviour while governing and leading is a management behaviour.
Why It is most difficult to engage in-
A leader must be able to bring out the best in each team member and the team as a whole - it might lead to situation where one team as whole has to perform. Some team member may feel it is quite difficult to become a leader under leader , takes more responsiblity and that might be lead into confusion, stress or low performance.
What does it take to meet this challenge-
Developing trusting relationships: Leaders should emphasis on developing these relationships with their direct reporting employee by representing authenticity, liability, and a candid concern for employees. Building others up: Building others up involves providing team members with the resources necessary to build the competence and confidence it takes to succeed (training, performance guidelines, time, consistent feedback, etc.).
