I think Realism best describes the state of international politics or to be more precise the world today.Realism is a theory that claims to explain the reality of international politics. It emphasizes the constraints on politics that result from humankind's egoistic nature and the absence of a central authority above the state.

Following are the reasons in support that realism best describes the state of international politics today:

• Realism describes the world properly and is the most easy way to understand and approach present international politics.
• It is quiet evident that realism is very well applicable to our daily lives. Thus, how we deal in international relations is very well defined and dominated by the theory of realism.
• Third, the realist theory is our last resort when political circumstances get out of hand, and lives, sovereignty, and power are threatened. This is because we traditionally relied on realist approaches and, consequently, do not hesitate in further outlining our world with the help of realism since it makes us feel more secure in what we are doing.
• Fourth, realism marks today's hegemon, the United States and, hence, today's world politics. As we all know that United States is one the most powerful and prosperous nations of the world and has leadership over other nations.
