Between microphylls of Selaginella and the megaphyll fronds of ferns, which one should be more effective at the process of photosynthesis? Why?

Ans.Between microphylls of selaginella and megaphylls frond of fern, megaphyll are more effective at the process of photosynthesis because megaphylls have well developed petiole with large photosynthetic area so megaphyll can arrange itself with help of petiole on stem to secure maximum light for photosynthesis while in case of microphyll which directly arise from stem and have less photosynthetic surface so can not recieve maximum amount of light for photosybthesis. Hence microphylls are less efficient in photosynthesis
