A car manufacturing company decided to produce a new hybrid car and launch it on the market before the end of this year. A previous attempt to launch the car failed miserably because of poor production planning. A new Operations and Production Manager was hired as a result and given the responsibility of setting up this new production unit so that the production is done efficiently and effectively and launching is successful. The CEO of the company has asked the Manager to come up with a detailed production plan to ensure everything runs smoothly once operations start. As the Operations and Production Manager of this unit, explain in detail the various steps involved in the production of this new car. Your plan should also cater for challenges and contingencies that you may face during operations. (

The various steps involved in production of new car

1) Developing

a) Planning: Examine various car design. The correct design is the first step to take care of as if the design is not good then how much ever the product is good or cheap will not attract dealer or the consumer. It may be time taking but it is very necessary.

b) Designing: The design must be high quality . After that convert a designed image to a 3D model

c) Body design : Resolve technical issues to make drawing and come with the best

d) Prototyping and evaluation : Check the precision on a prototype vehicle and Evaluate performance through simulations and experiments

2) Production preparation

a) Examination of productivity: Perform simulations of pressed portions. Also examine the quality of components in a molding die

b) Verification and procurement of equipment: Develop plans for a high-quality,low-cost,worker-friendly manufacturing process. Install jigs and equipment created from 3D data in the manufacturing process

c) Equipment Tryouts: Perform 3D simulations of the manufacturing process to verify productivity and quality. Define conditions for efficient painting through simulations of the movement of painting robots. Conduct examinations to determine component configurations and manufacturing processes that can provide ease of operation by simulating the operations of assembling components

3) Production

a) Make vehicle components of various sizes by stamping steel plates with press with press machine

b) Wielding : Form a vehicle body by welding pressed components

c) Painting : Provide gloss to the body by painting on multiple layers

d) Assembly : Assemble thousands of components including interior trim, meters, electrical wiring, an engine and tires

e) Inspection : After strict inspection from multiple viewpoints, such as brakes, lights and exhaust gases, ship the vehicle as a completed vehicle
